Melissa Scrymgeour – Chief Information and Strategy Officer

What I run: I am responsible for the IT systems, services and functions supporting the organization, along with our Project Management Office, Decision Support (a creative name for reporting and data analytics), and the Plan’s strategic planning process.

Dreams I chase: Early on, I aggressively climbed the career ladder.  My dream was to “be successful”, to lead an organization and be at the table with the leaders making strategic decisions that moved business forward.  Let’s say that as I have matured over the years, my dreams have evolved.  I want to be an active participant in this life rather than just simply “passing through”.  I dream that I leave my two boys with a sense of wonder and exploration for the world.  And that they can achieve their dreams through hard work, focus, and perseverance, with a focus on actively looking for ways to give back to society.

What I run after (dogs, kids, adventure): My two very active boys!

What I run (or walk) to stay fit: Always a tough one for women as we wear so many hats.  Often that last one to put on is time for taking care of ourselves.  I try to fit in exercise in small spurts where I can – hiking with the family, walks with friends, 30 minute boot camps, even jumping jacks and crunches in the living room with my 6-yr.-old during TV commercials!
