What I Run:
I founded the Bay Area chapter of the American Nursing Informatics Association, I'm a board member of the Northern California HIMSS and I oversee information systems for the Bass Center at Lucile Packard Children's Hospital at Stanford.
Dreams I chase:
I strive to be the healthiest version of myself I can be. I believe there is a strong mind - body connection and that achieving fitness goals is as powerful as achieving professional goals. I've completed a marathon every year the last 3 years after losing over 100 pounds five years ago through diet and exercise. I took up biking last year and completed a century ride and this year have planned a triathlon, a marathon, and a century ride.
What I run after (dogs, kids, adventure):
I have 3 kids who are mostly grown- one still at home, a clever 16 year old who is incredible at digital art. My grandson is four years old and we love our adventure time. I'll go to Italy this year and am excited to do some hiking and running in that beautiful country.
What I run (or walk) to stay fit:
I run the hills around my home in Emerald Hills, Ca as well as the Edgewood Natural preserve. Every Sunday a group of friends get together to run 5 miles and or compete in a local 10k. This Sunday we'll run for Super Bowl 50 and the course has us go around Great America and end up in the Santa Clara Stadium. I plan to do the Wildflower Olympic distance triathlon, the San Francisco Marathon and the Levi Century ride.
