What I Run:
As a single, working mom I run from 5:30 a.m. to 10 at night. That includes working at least 8 hours a day; carpooling kids to school and dance and the doctor and everywhere else; working out the gym so that I can stay sane; cooking and feeding kids and dogs, and running a couple loads of laundry a day; checking in with my elderly dad to make sure he is okay. Basically I run a small business and my children are sometimes the employees and sometimes the customers and the only ones that regularly thank me are the dogs (who twice a day are thrilled I take the time to feed them)
Dreams I chase:
My dreams include having my kids turn into healthy, happy, productive adults; a life where I worry more about where my next vacation will be and less about whether everyone has clean socks and if dinner includes both protein and a green vegetable.
What I run after (dogs, kids, adventure):
Peace, financial security, joy.
What I run (or walk) to stay fit:
My fitness includes an average of 30 minutes of cardio and 30 minutes of weight training about 4 days a week. Usually my mind benefits more than my muscles.
What I learned along the way:
Life is too short to be anything but happy. Surround yourself with people that lift you up. Find joy. It's okay to drink a glass of wine every night.
